
Honorable Sayed Jalal Karim
Afghan Ambassador to Saudi Arabia
Honorable Sayed Jalal Karim is the Former Ambassador and Special Envoy for the President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan to Saudi Arabia from 2016 to 2020 and concurrently served as non-Resident Ambassador of Afghanistan to the Kingdom of Bahrain (2017-2020). He also served as mediator of successful peace talks between the Afghan Government and other institutions/governments and Taliban.
Hon. Karim founded the Abdullah bin Zubair School in Mecca in 2000 for the education of orphans of the Afghan community residing in Saudi Arabia. He is also the founder and owner of Radio Afghanistan and the Voice of Afghanistan which was aired from London in 2001. Currently, he is a Board Member and CEO of Jubail Pharma Company Ltd and a Board Member of Marasel Group both in Al-Khobar, KSA.
At 8 years old, he received the Higher Secondary School Certificate. When he was 9 years old, Hon. Karim received a scholarship from Columbia University, USA for his university degree. He was also awarded scholarship by the Afghan government at Moscow University. He earned a master’s degree in political science from Seton Hall University, USA.
